Tim is 32 and is a licensed Residential Builder. He works for his family’s property management company.
April is 31 and is the Operations Controller for a locally owned wireless retail company. She manages the company’s accounting and human resources. April plans to conduct much of her work from home after they adopt.
Tim and April are non-denominational Christians. They live in Grand Rapids MI.
This family is Caucasian and wishes to adopt an infant boy or girl, or twins, up to one year old of any race or ethnicity. They hope to have an open adoption but fully respect the boundaries requested by the placing parents.
About Us
We met at a movie theater when we were in high school, and instantly became best friends. After 16 years of knowing each other and 10 years of marriage, we can honestly say that we are still best friends. We love each other very much, and are excited to grow that love in a family.
About Tim (written by April): From the moment I met Tim, I knew he was
someone special. He always has time to listen to me, and respects my opinions. His
funny sense of humor lifts me up on even my worst of days; he always knows how to
put a smile on my face. He is a very caring person, and always goes out of his way to
help others. He also is strong and committed to his values. I can count on him to
stand up for what is right.
I know he will make a wonderful father. I watch him with his nephew or the neighborhood children and he is great. He makes them laugh, plays games, and teaches them life lessons. I can’t wait to watch him with his own children.
About April (written by Tim): April is strong, caring, intelligent, warm and loves to laugh. April has a lot of love to give and wants to be a mom with all her heart. I know she'll be a great one. April is up for a challenge and meets them head on with love, consideration, care and support.

We fully respect the individuals who make this decision for a child, and are grateful to them for entrusting us with such a gift. We hope to have a positive relationship with them, with whatever level of openness is comfortable for them. For the child's sake, we
hope the birthparents would stay involved if possible.
We believe that adoption is a wonderful way to build a family, and we are excited to be on this journey. We know God has a plan for our lives, a plan to fill our home with love and laughter. We patiently wait for the child who was meant for us and will fill this place in our hearts.
We will share our positive feelings about adoption with our children, and we desire them to know about their adoption story, heritage and ethnicity.
We live in a family-friendly neighborhood in Grand Rapids. We have a community park a block away from our house. We spend our free time walking our dogs or working on home improvement projects. Tim enjoys basketball, golf, fishing, boating and many other outdoor activities. April likes reading, movies, listening to music and shopping. Together we enjoy road trips and exploring new places. We also like roller coasters and ice cream!
Most of our social time is spent with our families. Whether it is dinner, game night, birthday parties, amusement parks, trips to the zoo or shopping excursions, there is always something fun going on in our extended families. We have two nephews and two nieces, and one more nephew on the way!
