Roger is 27 and Angela is 22.
Both have completed high school and a variety of classes and courses specifically related to their current careers. Roger has his State of Michigan Journeyman's license and works as a
Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter installing and repairing commerical and industrial plumbing for the local union. Angela is a Certified Coding Associate and is preparing to obtain her Certified Coding Specialist License. She reads patient charts and assign correct codes for the insurance to pay the hospital and/or physicians. After children join their family, Angela is planning to be a stay at home mom. This couple is financially secure.
Roger and Angela are Lutheran. They live in a small town south of Grand Rapids, MI.
This family is Caucasian and wishes to adopt an infant boy or girl, or twins, up to one year old of any race or ethnicity. They hope to have an open adoption but fully respect the boundaries requested by the placing parents.
About Roger (written by Angela): Roger has been the greatest blessing in my life since the moment we were set up on our surprise date. He is truly my best friend and the love of my life. He can always be counted on no matter what the circumstance is. What I love most about Roger is his passion for life. He is ALWAYS happy, which is great! He seems to be able to find the good in almost every situation and rarely gets upset, sad or frustrated with anything (other then maybe doing poorly in a game). He is a very good Christian man and will make a wonderful father. He is a very caring, energetic, friendly and a funny person. He is always making me and everyone around us laugh about something.
Roger loves sports! I'm sure he would play any sport if asked to do so. He grew up playing baseball and football in high school and will still play on softball leagues every summer. He is also a huge fan of Disc Golfing. He goes out as often as possible when it is in season and thoroughly enjoys himself doing it. Our children will no doubt have many fond memories of playing different sports with Dad. Roger is a very loving man and makes sure those around him know how he feels about them. Our nieces and nephews just adore him and are always playing with him. Whether it is climbing all over him, playing hide and go seek, or running around outside the kids are always excited to see Uncle Roger. He is going to make a wonderful Dad to some very lucky children.
About Angela (written by Roger): Angela cannot wait to be a mother. Every store we go to we seem to buy a new Michigan Wolverines outfit, or look at the crib she wants to get. She is going to be the best mother, because she has so much love to give. She is becoming quite the artist with crochet needles. She just finished crocheting a blanket for one of our friends that is expecting and is currently working on a baby hat. I just bought her a new sewing machine, so I am excited to see what she can do with it.
Angela has a big heart and is looking forward to sharing her love. Being a mother has been one of her greatest passions. Angela is a very smart, sweet, loving woman, who loves to be around children, especially our nieces and nephews. She is the best Aunt, they always go to her when they need a loving hug or just want to cuddle. Angela is looking forward to being a stay at home mom. Her other passion is to be a homemaker. She takes very good care of me. When we first started dating she didn't know how to do laundry, but now I'm not sure if I remember how. I used to be the one who cooked, but she has taken over that as well. I really can't complain, she takes good care of me. I love her and can't wait to start a family with her.

An open adoption is ideal for most children. We believe that in most cases it is better for the child to know his birthparents and for them to be part of their lives. We hope to have a close relationship with the birth family of our child, but also know and understand that there are boundaries that need to be set for both parties in an adoption. We hope to have a continually growing relationship with our child's birth family and hope that they feel comfortable knowing they are loved and accepted into our family. We want our child to be raised knowing how we prayed for him/her for so long and that although his birth family put him/her up for adoption does not mean that they didn't want or love him/her.
Family and friends play a large role in our life. We see most of our immediate family at least once a week, most of the time more. We attend the same church as both of our parents and all of our siblings, so we will see each other at church if nowhere else during the week. We live only three houses down for our siblings that are married, so we see them very often. We will have cook outs, dinner, go for walks or just hang out together. They have three children, with another one on the way, that we are very close to.
Between the two of us we have three nieces and two nephews, with one more on the way in January, so we spend a lot of time with all of them. We will go on “dates” with some of our older nieces and nephews, or babysit to spend time with them. We have brought them to the movies several times, out to eat, children’s museum and parks.
We are close with our friends, but don’t see each other quite as often as we would like. Roger will often times see his friends during the week by going disc golfing, I see my friends probably once a month or so.
We live in a small town south of Grand Rapids and love it. We are in walking distance from the schools and several parks. Our community is very friendly and welcoming, everyone seems to know everyone.
