Sally and Seth

profile

We’re excited to welcome a child into our lives to love unconditionally and look forward to all the things we can experience together. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We hope you find peace while making this difficult decision, whether or not adoption becomes a part of your story.

Our Story…

We started dating in college and have been married for 14 years. We’re best friends and thankful for every day that we get to spend together. We admire each other’s differences and appreciate the strengths that the other brings to the relationship. We enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants and new foods, skiing/snowboarding, going to the gym together, concerts, watching movies and reading books.

Careers…

We both work in downtown Grand Rapids where Sally is a studio manager at a design studio and Seth is a self-employed graphic designer. We’re fortunate to work with friends who are inspiring, skilled people. The proximity of our studios means it’s only a short walk to have lunch or a coffee together each day.

Our home and neighborhood…

We live in a two-story home in a quiet neighborhood in Grand Rapids. Our neighbors tend to be young couples with young children or older couples who raised their families here and are empty-nesters. We’re within walking distance of some great parks, a swimming pool, biking trails, a splash pad, ice cream shops, and restaurants. One of our favorite things to do on a summer evening is meet up with friends and walk to get ice cream.

Family and friends…

We’re blessed to have loving and supportive families who are excited for us as we’re on this adoption journey. We grew up in Ohio, each with 4 siblings and moved to Grand Rapids 13 years ago after getting married. They visit us and we visit them often for camping trips, vacations, holidays, and to celebrate family milestones. We both come from large families and we have 25 nieces and nephews who are very excited to have another cousin!

In addition to the friendships we made while living in Ohio, we’ve met a lot of wonderful people since moving to Grand Rapids. We have a fun, supportive group of friends, and many of them have children. We get together often, sharing a meal, playing games, riding bikes, camping, or going to the beach. One of our favorite things to do is travel to visit our friends who now live in other cities. We’re also part of a neighborhood group that gets together each month, and we’ve met a lot of wonderful families who live nearby through this group. Many of them have children or are currently expecting.
